An exceedingly rare Indian Tulwar sword proved to be a 'real sleeper' in the recent June 2024 auction. With 225 bids recorded, it finally sold for a hammer price of £109,500 to an overseas client.

Entered for sale by a local vendor with Scottish ancestry, the piece it thought to have been handed down by family descent and was once owned by the Great Grandfather William Dick, who served in the 41st Foot Regiment as an Army surgeon in India during the 19th century.

Below is delighted auctioneer, Chris Baker with the treasured piece!
