Coming to auction at Gardiner Houlgate this summer is the fascinating collection of British Perambulator's from The Collection of Jan and Geoff Swift.
Siblings, Jan and Geoff spent their retirement building up the biggest pram and doll collection in Britain.
The story of the collection began some thirty years ago with a single vintage doll's size pram and expanded to over two hundred carriages, both child's and doll's size, ranging in date from 1770 to modern which they proudly displayed in their barn as a museum, often giving private tours.
Jan and Geoff were also keen authors publishing two titles to include 'Perambulators' first published in 2008 and 'Prams in the Garden' A Pictorial History of the British Perambulator published in 2014. This edition displaying their personal collection and all to be included in the auction with other related artefacts to include dolls and bears.
Geoff passed away in 2018 and Jan most recently in March 2025.
